A two day workshop entitled ‘The Art and Science of Collection Management’, was organised by iHR for several banks and non-bank financial institutions, IDLC Finance, BRAC Bank, IDCOL, AB Bank, NRB Bank and IFIC Bank.2

CM10The course was designed to prepare operation level staff on the issues related to collection of loans (past due and current) and the repercussions of failing to correct. The participants explored the Bangladesh Bank regulations, strategies and tools for collection and how monitoring and early alert systems are important tools in ensuring that problem accounts are identified quickly and corrective steps taken. The participants were also introduced to strategies and tools to collect once a loan becomes non-performing.

Global best practice adapted for local regulations and business environment were discussed at length. Participants were extremely forthcoming about their own experiences and the exchange of ideas were found to be beneficial. This is a common result of training programs managed and implemented by iHR because all our trainers are highly recognized experts in their fields who bring in their real world success stories and their failures. He also consults as local banking expert for the European Union in their INSPIRED Project.
